I'm looking forward to Artweeks this year. I shall be exhibiting at home for 2 weekends and I will be there throughout.
For several years I have found galleries and venues to exhibit my work in but I realised I missed out on seeing the visitors coming to look at my work. This seems to be a fundamental principle of Artweeks, an opportunity for people to see artists in their studios and talk to them about their work.
This has to be one of the most rewarding parts of an artist’s life. The hours I spend alone painting are rewarded when I get to speak to people who are interested in my vision of the world and why I feel the way I do.
I realise that by exhibiting away from where I work I was missing out on vital connection and feedback. So, I'm looking forward to meeting everyone who comes along to share their interest and passion in art.
Exhibiting dates are:
Saturday and Sunday, May 5th and 6th
Saturday and Sunday, May 12th and 13th
from 11.00 am - 5pm

Sarah, yes, it is a fantastic opportunity to see your paintings displayed in your own home, with you alongside them describing their significance and what they particularly mean to you. That was a lovely (and very memorable) experience.
